My cakes are made specifically for stacking and creating sturdy tiered cakes, this is why they are a bit more dense then your typical sponge - somewhere between a mudcake (made with chocolate) and a pound cake. They are beautifully soft and moist and filled with a tonne flavour when at room temperature but can seem dense when cold (I will still eat them at any temperature but a slice in the microwave for 20 seconds - wow!)
Please give at least 2 weeks notice for celebration cakes and 4 weeks for weddings, as I cant guarantee I wont be booked & some design features may not be attainable on short notice.
Wedding cakes need to be booked and confirmed earlier as liaising with venues and organising delivery times take more organisation.
To book a place in my calendar you need to pay a 50% non refundable deposit, this is so I can guarantee I don't turn away clients (and income) if you cancel. I have a specific amount of orders I can take per week and this will guarantee your order is booked in and accounted for with my time.
Buttercream! I use a hybrid French/Italian meringue buttercream for all my cakes which doesn't taste as sweet as American buttercream as I don't use powdered sugar. This buttercream hardens in the fridge just like butter does and softens when at room temperature making it one of the more stable options.
Fondant is only used for decorations and never for covering cakes.
I love getting inspirational photos but thats what they are, inspirational. I don't copy other peoples designs rather I take elements and add my own creative touch to each of my cakes. The more creative freedom I have the better I can design the cake.
If you have certain elements that are a must (such as a name plaque) I will always include them but with so many cake shapes, sizes and decoration options; being able to copy another cake exactly is almost impossible.
Each cake tier and each minimum order of treats can be different flavours.
Example: 3 tier cake can have up to 3 flavours and 2 dozen cakesicles can be made with 2 different flavours.
Yes! We do deliver. Prices are based on distance from South San Jose with a minimum of $20. Delivery is a great option for safe arrival of your cake and we will coordinate times with you and your venue so you can take one less thing off your plate! The delivery fee included set up.
For both pick up and delivery it is important that the cakes and treats stay in a cool area or refrigerator until the event starts especially on summer days. Never put a cake in direct sun - just like butter does, it will melt.
If you are travelling with your cake, put it on a flat surface such as the passenger side floor or trunk and make sure the air con is on. Do not have someone hold the cake and if you need to use the car seats pad them at the back so the box is not sitting on an angle.
